He came with his mother and his brother to America settling in the Kramer vicinity. They attended our meetings, and found much pleasure in them. his mother died a few years ago. A brother and his aged grandparents mourn his early passing. Kramer, NE."

I believe this birthdate to be more accurate. He was listed as 9 years old in 1881 on ship list, but believe a widow with two young sons might have done this for a difference in fare for a younger son. The same church records give his brother, Franciscus Frank as b. 10 Sep 1873 with same parents. - GFM
