Husband of Sarah Adams. Shown in the 1880 census as living with his wife Sarah, and that he was a retired merchant. Census for 1860 shows him as "treasurer" but does not say of what. He had his wife, Sarah, and children William-24; Sarah-21; and Peter H.-15, living in the home. (Note: This would have been a beautiful (obelisk) tombstone if someone hadn't knocked the top half down onto the grave of a daughter's, which also broke her tombstone in half.)

Note: An article from the Sunday, Oct. 21, 1962 Greensboro Daily News--p. 38, has some interesting information about Peter Adams:

"Perhaps the most renowned stagecoach magnate in Greensboro was Peter Adams. His house, now remodeled, still stands at 824 W. Market St. He owned fine (five??) six-horse coaches that ran in several directions from town."
