Joann Watson Rutledge, age 79, passed away on Friday, June 21, 2013

Joann was a native of Chattanooga, Tennessee; she graduated from City High School.

Joann graduated from Tennessee Tech with a degree in Mathatics.

She retired from Hamilton county school system teaching Elementary and Middle school Mathmatics.

Joann was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years; George Rutledge, parents, Joseph and Ann Hecker Watson.

Joann is survived by her son Andrew ( Sherrie) Rutledge of Rockester Hills, Michigan; daughters Ann (Greg) Wingo of Marietta, Georgia and Tracy Rutledge of Signal Mountain, Tennessee; Grandchildren Brad and Chelsea Rutledge; brother; John Stanley Watson of Maryland ; best pals Dudley and Lucy niece Connie Mundy of Goodlettsville, Tennessee

The family will receive friends from 1:30pm to 2:30 pm on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at St. Paul Episcopal Church

Funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at 2:30 pm at St. Paul Episcopal Church with Reverend Suzanne N. Smitherman Officiating

A private Interment will be at Chattanooga National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Book of Rememberance at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 305 W. 7th Street, Chattanooga, Tennessee 37402 or to Highland Park Humane Society, 212 N. Highland Park Ave Chattanooga, Tennessee 37404, The American Heart Association, and Memorial Hospital Health Care Foundation.
