Daniel Dundon died this morning at 5 o'clock at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Burt Sneed in Sterling, IL. The funeral will be held next Monday at 9 o'clock in St. Mary's church.
The service will be in charge of Father A.J. Burns with interment in Calvary cemetery.
Mr. Dundon was born in N.Y. state May 22, 1851, being the time of his death 65 years, 11 months and 26 days old. He came west when young with his parents to this state and they settled in Sterling.
Later he went to Montmorency and lived on a farm with his parents for a few years. He was an employee for nearly forty years of the American Bridge and Structural Company of Chicago, and in this work he traveled all over the world, even as far as China with one job.
He was a builders plumber and was well thought of by employers. He was a member of Builders Trade Council No. 1 in Chicago and for four years he served as its president.
For the past few years he retired from active work and has been living in Sterling for the past 24 weeks.
He has been staying with his niece, Mrs. Burt Sneed at the Sterling Inn, most of the time too ill to get about from an abdominal tumor which was the cause of his death.
His sister Mary Dundon died last December, she was the only sister of several brothers. The deceased leaves to mourn the following brothers; William Dundon of Rock Falls, James of Dewitt, IA, Michael of Anaconda, MO., and John of Sterling.
He was a man of retiring disposition and made friends by his honesty and integrity. He made very little complaint about his suffering even in the last.
