Mr. Frederick Dittus Dead
Frederick Dittus, 77, residing five miles west of Kenton, died at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at San Antonio Hospital, where he had been a patient for 12 days. Mr. Dittus was born at the place of his last residence, June 27, 1869. He was the son of Gotlieb and Dorothea Dittus, long since deceased. Three brothers and three sisters died early in life. On June the 6th, 1895, Mr. Dittus was joined in marriage to Elfra Leora Gibson of Huron-Co., Ohio, who preceded him in death twenty one years ago. To this union was born two children, twins Leslie Dittus of near Kenton, and Mrs. Roscoe Baldwin of near Bellefontaine. These, with five grandchildren, remain to mourn their loss. Also two brothers and two sisters of the deceased survive, William and Ferdinand Dittus of Kenton, Miss Mary Dittus, and Mrs. Floyd Gerhart of California. There are also three nephews living. Mr. Dittus lived most of his life at or near the place of his birth, where he was a well known farmer; generally interested and active in community affairs. Services will be held at the Schindewolf Funeral Home, at 2 p.m. Tuesday, with Rev. Ora Lovell, Friends minister of Zanesfield in charge. Burial will be in Norman Cemetery.
