LONG LIFE IN KENTON
Gotlieb Dittus Dies At Advanced Age of 84 Years
Funeral Services Will be Held at Late Home Monday
At the age of eighty-four years and four months, Gotlieb Dittus, a native of Germany and one of the best known citizens of Hardin County passed away this morning at 9:30 o'clock after a two years period of ill health. Death was due to old age. Mr. Dittus has resided on the farm where he died for the past 45 years and was respected and esteemed by a host of friends and relatives. Gotlieb Dittus was born in Germany, April 9, 1829, and came to America in 1856. Twelve years later, in 1868, he moved to Hardin county and took up his residence on a farm in the close proximity of the Lynn Valley church. He is survived by a wife, two daughters, Eleanor of Colorado and Mary, at home, and by four sons, Jerry of Peoria, William of Lima and Fred and Ferdinand of Kenton. Mr. Dittus was a member of the St. John's church. He will be buried Monday in Norman cemetery following funeral services held at his late home at 1:30.
