Mrs. Elizabeth Hope Floyd,, aged 73 years, widow of the late Thomas W. Floyd, who prior to his death about six years ago was a well known citizen, died at her home near Riley Friday morning at three o'clock following a two months illness of dropsy. Mrs. Floyd had not enjoyed good health for the past few years but her condition had at no time caused her family alarm until over a year ago since which time she had been rapidly declining. While her death is the source of much sorrow to her many friends, it was not unexpected. Mrs. Floyd was a woman of excellent Christian character. She possessed a bright cheerful disposition, which easily won and held friends. A life long and devoted member of the Methodist church she lived a life consecrated to the Master. Before her marriage Mrs. Floyd was Miss Elizabeth Fogle, daughter of the late Ebenezer Fogle. The funeral serviced were held at the residence Saturday morning conducted by Rev. W. H. Hickerson of Bradfordsville and the interment was in Ryder Cemetery. She is survived by one son, Samuel P. Floyd, and one daughter, Miss Ida Floyd, both of this county and two sisters, Mrs. Kate Glazebrook of the county and Mrs. Maude Jennings of Louisville.

Her death certificate #10692 says she was buried here on April 10, 1915.

She is buried with her husband and father in Section G.
