Elizabeth Harris Shoemaker, age 92, formerly of Hillcrest St., Martinsville, died at the Blue Ridge Nursing Center, on Saturday, June 15, 2013. She was born in Martinsville on February 3, 1921 to the late Martin Luther and Lila Palmer Harris. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Luther Franklin Shoemaker, Sr., a son, John Baxter "Johnny" Shoemaker, four brothers, Lowell, Monroe, Joe, and Lester Harris, and two sisters, Mildred Moore and Virginia Harris.

She was of the Baptist Faith and had worked for E.I. DuPont and American Furniture Companies. She was also a 1939 graduate of Ridgeway High School.

She is survived by her son, Luther Franklin "Frank" Shoemaker, Jr. of Newnan, GA, four grandchildren, Jarrett Shoemaker, Carlie Shoemaker and Aubrey Bossence all of Newnan, GA and Franklin M. Shoemaker of Las Vegas, NV, two great-grandchildren, Kayden Shoemaker and Townes Bossence both of Newnan, GA., Special Caregiver, Charlotte Swinney, Nephews, Charlie, Nelson, Thomas, Mark and Dan Harris and Rev. Van Moore, and Niece, Cynthia Frith.

Her funeral service will be held on Friday, June 21, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Roselawn Funeral Home with Rev. Van Moore officiating the service and interment following in the Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends on Friday before the service from 9-11 a.m. in Roselawn Chapel.
