Our well beloved, Glenna Williams Birkinshaw peacefully passed away at home on May 10, 1996.

Born June 14, 1915 in Minersville, Utah to Heber C. and Adella Allen Williams. Lived in Salina, Utah while growing up. She was the first librarian of the Salina Library. Graduated from the LDS Hospital Nursing School. She married Vance Birkinshaw on September 15, 1939 in the Salt Lake Temple. She was a Registered Nurse working at LDS, Cottonwood and St. Marks Hospitals for over 40 years. She was well known for her kindness and attention to her patients. She also held many positions in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints including Young Women's president, Relief Society and Primary teacher, and genealogical missionary. She was successful in finding hundreds of relatives through her labors which took her to Philadelphia and England in her research. To the neighborhood children she was always known as Grandma Birki, the cookie grandma. Her legacy of a righteous example shall be with us forever.It is a joyous reunion for her to be with her husband and two sons, Scott and Jeff, as well as her parents and brother, Lawrence and sister, Rita Kimball, who have all preceded her in completion of life's quest. She is survived by three sisters, LaJeune Nebeker, Lillian Vigos, and Fonda Fairbanks, also survived by children, Jerry (Sue) Birkinshaw, Carla (Doug) Stephen, Rob (Lonnie) Birkinshaw, Sue W. Birkinshaw and Suzanne L. Birkinshaw (daughters-in-law), Suzanne Achinte, a special friend. She was the grandmother of twenty and great-grandmother of two.

A viewing will be held in the family home at 5762 So. 1060 W. on Monday evening, May 13th, from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 1996 at 2 p.m. with a viewing one hour prior to services. Interment: Salt Lake City Cemetery. Funeral directors: Deseret Mortuary.
