Martha F. Blum Meiners was born in Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio on September 4, 1904 to Leopold J. Blum, Jr. and Adelaide "Addie" Weiler Blum. She had two siblings. Her heritage was German. Martha married Herman George ("Herm") Meiners, and they had a daughter, Miriam Meiners Bankemper. On June 23, 1952 Martha died at age 48 of kidney failure and was buried in the Meiners family plot at Saint Joseph Cemetery in Cincinnati. She was survived by her husband and daughter. Her husband later remarried, to Lou Ziegler Meiners.
