Donis passed away on June 15, 2012 in Costa Mesa, CA.
Donis grew up on a ranch in Lincoln County, in Tortillita Canyon, near Nogal. Donis attended school and graduated from high school in Carrizozo.
Donis served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. Donis saw service in the Philippines as well as in Japan during the war.
Donis held many different jobs during his life time. Most employment involved horses in some way. Donis was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and other out door activities.
Donis is survived by three daughters, Sherida Kay Galley and her husband, Dr. Dick Galley of Willow Park, TX, Twyla Ruth Rice and her husband, Phil Rice of Madras, OR and Donna Arlene Sallee and her husband, Willie Sallee of Artesia, NM, four granddaughters, Fawna Lee and her husband, Chanley of Farmington, NM, Jaedeanne Shaver of Fort Worth, TX, Karly Rice of Hollywood, CA and Karissa Rice of Busan, South Korea and one grandson, Chancy Sallee of Artesia, NM, as well as one great-granddaughter, Ruby Shaver of Fort Worth, TX. Donis is also survived by one sister, Lorraine Brimberry of Ruidoso, NM and one brother, Herbert Aguayo and his wife, Earline Aguayo of Sun City, AZ and numerous nieces and nephews.
Donis was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Edith Aguayo, three sisters, Alice Bell, Francis Campbell and his twin sister, Doris Pedersen, seven brothers, Joe, Paul, Ernest, Jack, Bernie, Clyde and Elmo and one son, Clay Allen Aguayo.
Memorial services have been scheduled at 10:30 a.m. on October 20, 2012 at Evergreen Cemetery in Carrizozo, NM. All friends and relatives are invited to attend.
