Scoville (Brittain) Geneva, 92, died peacefully at St. Vincent’s Nursing Home on April 29, 2013. Born in Yarmouth, Geneva was a daughter of the late Ernest and Florence Brittain. She is survived by her sister, her daughter and son, 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by husband Clifford, son Donald, brothers Percy, twins Ralph and Harry, Neil and Joseph, sisters Ida, Ruth, and Lillian. Geneva was greatly loved by her family, who share warm memories of camping, playing games, and enjoying a good laugh with her.

Special thanks to the staff at St. Vincent’s and Tibbets Home for Special Care where Geneva lived for two years before moving to Halifax. The staff were warm, friendly, and made her feel at home … she loved joking around and teasing them.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. No visitation by request. A funeral service will be held at Hebron Baptist Church on Friday, May 3, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Wayne Johnson officiating. A reception will be held at the Hebron Baptist Church before interment in the Chegoggin Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hebron Baptist Church or Chegoggin Cemetery.
