Ruth Marie Gauthier was the daughter of John Francis Gauthier and Minnie Lucas Gauthier. Ruth was married to Harold Clark Covell. They are the parents of Ethelyn, Doris & Donna.

OBITUARY, Muscatine Journal - WILTON - Ruth Marie Covell, 85, Route 1, Wilton, died Saturday at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Lacock Funeral Home with the Rev. Leland Eyres officiating. Kathy Luethye, organist and Robert Lee and Teresa Guy the vocalists. Pallbearers are Robert Lee Guy, Douglas Nolte, Wayne Adamson, David Nolte, Alan Whitmore and Cory Adamson. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery. Visitation is 8 p.m. today, with Eastern Star services to be held at 7 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Sweetland United Methodist Church. The daughter of John Francis and Minnie Lucas Gauthier, she was born March 6, 1899, in Dubuque. Her marriage to Harold C. Covell took place Dec. 15, 1920, in Muscatine. She was a member of the Sweetland United Methodist Church, Purity Chapter of Order of Eastern Star of Wilton, the Wilton Progressive Club and the NNC of Wilton. Survivors include her husband, three daughters, Mrs. Marvin (Ethelyn) Morrison of West Liberty, and Mrs. Robert (Doris) Guy and Mrs. John (Donna) Nolte, both of Wilton; six grand-children; eight great-grand-children; and one sister, Mrs. Esther Miller of Denver, Colo. Four brothers and a sister preceded her in death.
