Mrs. Lucille Ward, 66, died at 12:05 a.m. Sunday, June 25 at Mary immaculate Hospital after a short illness. She was a Marion County native and resided on the Old Calvary Road.
Mrs. Ward was a daughter of the late Sam Porter Floyd and Mary Katherine Violet Floyd. She was first married to Hobson Mardis, deceased, and later to Robert Ward, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Roy Mardis, Bardstowenand john Paul Mardis, Lebanon; a daughter Mrs. Irvin Colvin, Springfield, a brother Sam Floyd, Lebanon; a sister Mrs. Roy Pope, Lakeland, Fla.; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The body was at the Bosley Funeral Home. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. at First baptist Church by the Rev. Herman Rowlett. Burial was in Ryder Ceemetery.
Pall bearers were Clarence Harmon, Frank Spragens, Virgil Robertson, W. J. Crowdus, John Keith, and Maurice Clark.
She is buried in Section B.
