Arnette Herbert Culler -- Orangeburg

Mrs. Arnette Herbert Culler, 89, of Orangeburg, died Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at the Regional Medical Center, Orangeburg. She was the widow of Carl George Culler.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 15, at Orangeburg Lutheran Church, 610 Ellis Ave., Orangeburg, with Pastor Gary White officiating. Visitation with the family will be held in the church fellowship hall prior to the service.

Mrs. Culler was born in Orangeburg, the daughter of the late Mary Bennett Herbert and Walter Chesley Herbert. She graduated from Winthrop College with a bachelor of music degree in piano performance. Mrs. Culler enjoyed teaching piano in Orangeburg for many years, as well as teaching several years in the Edisto school district. She was a long time member of Orangeburg Lutheran Church and served as the organist for almost 50 years. Mrs. Culler was also a member of the Orangeburg Piano Teachers' Forum and the Music Club.

She is survived by two daughters, Mary Elizabeth (Lib) Cherry and her husband Rhude Cherry of Manning, and Kay Culler Fralick and her husband Charles Russell Fralick Jr. of Ashburn, Va.; three grandsons, Rhude Cherry III and his wife Sandy Cherry of Yorktown, Va., Walter Shedrick Cherry and his wife Melissa Cherry of Alpharetta, Ga., and Christopher Culler Fralick of Ashburn; and four great-grandchildren, Amelia Cherry and Alice Grace Cherry of Yorktown, and Bennett Cherry and Caroline Cherry of Alpharetta. Also, she is survived by her sister, Rose Herbert Berry of Orangeburg. She was preceded in death by her brother, Albert (Buck) McQueen Herbert of Bamberg.
