DANIEL MILLER, farmer, Section 13, P. O. Troy; this genial and sterling fellow- citizen, a pioneer of Kansas, was born in Cumberland County, Pa., May 10, 1817, and was there educated until he attained his twentieth year, when he came West and located for a time in Ohio; in May, 1844, he became a resident of Andrew County, Mo., being among the early pioneers in that part. In May, 1847, he enlisted in the Mexican War; in 1855 he pre-empted the claim where he now resides, and has since contributed to the general progress of Doniphan County. He was married in 1842 to Miss Liddie M. Earhart, a native of Ohio. By this union they have had ten children - Mary J., Louisa, deceased; Josephine, deceased; Rebecca H., Thomas D., Ora, Gussie A., Sarah M., Laura E. and Victor(ia) E.
