SUFFOLK - Mrs. Lillian Basemore Babb, 78, of 105 North Broad St., died Saturday in James River Nursing Home, Newport News.

A native of Bertie County, N.C., she was the widow of Robert Everett Babb. A charter member of West End Baptist Church, she was also a member of the church loyalty class and the Baptist Womens Missionary Society.

Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Robbie Beale of Smithfield, a sister, Mrs. Ruby Parker of Aulander, N.C.; four half sisters, Mrs. Annie Minton of Suffolk, Mrs. Clifton Ward of Windsor, N.C., Mrs. Allie Lee Hofler, and Mrs. Margaret Truitt, both of Portsmouth; a half brother- Lynwood Basemore of Norfolk; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

A funeral service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in West End Bapt Church by the Rev. Donald J. Dunlap assisted by the Rev. Warren F. Taylor. Burial will be in Cedar Hills Cemetery. The body will be taken from R. W. Baker Funeral Home at 1 p.m. The family will be at 105 North Broad St., Norfolk.
