"Carrie M. Miller Rites Scheduled for Saturday"
Wednesday at 11:05 p.m., Mrs. Carrie M. Miller,88, Rt. 4, Three Rivers,died in the Three Rivers Hospital of apoplexy. She had been in the hospital for one week but had been ill since Labor Day.
She was born in Winterset, Ia.,a daughter of James and Eunice (Lease) Clendenin. The youngest of ten children, she came to Michigan at the age of two with her parents in a horse and wagon. She lived in the area all of her life.
On Mar. 7, 1897, she was married to Wellington A. Miller at Jones. He preceded her in death in March, 1948.
Mrs. Miller is survived by one daughter, Mrs. John (Winifred) Kundert, Rt. 4, Three Rivers; two aons, Lyle E. Miller, of Constantine and Virgil Miller, Rt. 1, White Pigeon; 16 grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren; one half-brother, James Clendenin, of Three Rivers. A daughter, Mrs. Etah Hanley, and a son, Otto, preceded her in death.
Services will be held at the Geisler Funeral Home at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, with the Rev. Harold M Diepert, of Ninth Street Methodist Church, Three Rivers, officiating.
Burial will be in Poe's Cemetery.
Note: This obituary states that Carrie returned to Michigan from Iowa with her parents, but her mother, Eunice (Lease) Clendenin, died in Iowa and then Carrie returned to Michigan with her father and her siblings.
