The birth and death of this infant son of Jim and Emma is tragic. When the doctor arrived for a home delivery, he had been drinking. His method of attending to the birth of the child is unknown, however siblings later recalled their parents describing it as murder. The difficult delivery was due perhaps to a large child or a small birth canal. Needless to say, the intoxicated doctor attempted to pull the child from the mother's womb and the top of the infant's head was detached. Later after the doctor sent a bill to Jim, the furious father visited the doctor refusing to pay the amount charged saying he would take the docor to court for murder and inebriation. No further attempts were made by the doctor to obtain the fees charged.
