MADISON — Leona Ophime, age 79, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007. She was born on Aug. 14, 1927, the daughter of Calvin and Susan Shultz. Leona was united in marriage in December 1953, to Russell Ophime, they were married for more than 40 years, before Russell preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and mother. Leona enjoyed children, the simple pleasures of flowers, especially roses, working on puzzles and her dogs. But her greatest joy came from raising her sons, Olin "Ole" and LeRoy. She is further survived by many special nieces and nephews. Leona was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers and a sister. Funeral services will be held GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, at 3 p.m., on Thursday, Jan. 18, 2007, with Rev. Harold Zimmick presiding.
