Mr Autry was the son of William Home Autry and Julia Ann Sanders. His siblings were Lena Autry; David Winslow Autry (1907-1987); Mardibel Autry; Rachel Autry; William Autry. He was the husband of Dorothy (Dot) B. Autry, whom he married Sep 14, 1938. Their children were Myrna Louise Autry; Marvin Eugene Autry; and Sheila Autry. He was a Pender County Commissioner for many years and instrumental in passing many laws bringing much new business to the little fishing community of Hampstead. He owned and operated a public boat dock until his passing. He was a World War II veteran and is deeply missed.
