FUNERAL SERVICES SLATED FOR H. DIRKS
DIED AT ANAMOSA HOME FOLLOWING BRIEF ILLNESS
Funeral services for Henry M. Dirks, 77, Anamosa, will be held Friday, Dec. 28 at 2 p.m. in the St. Paul Lutheran church. Dirks died Wednesday, Dec. 26, at his home following a brief illness.
Dirks was born Oct. 9, 1879 in Wayne township, Jones county. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Helene Neunaber Dirks, who died March 8, 1956. Couple were married Feb. 18, 1908, at Marion.
Dirks farmed in Wayne and Cass townships until 1942, when he moved to Anamosa.
Rev. James Siefkes will be in charge of the funeral services with the Goettsch funeral home in charge of arrangements. Burial will be in the Wayne cemetery.
Casketbearers will be Carl Dirks, Ed Husmann, August Zimmerman, Henry Hults, Fernando Krommonga, ad Lawrence Neunaber.
Dirks is survived by six sons and two daughters. Sons include Fred, Anamosa; George, Springville; Elmer, Morley; Robert, Anamosa; Earl, Monticello; and Marvin, Mount Vernon.
Daughters include Mrs. Clifford Taylor, Anamosa and Mrs. Harold Bickford, Anamosa. Also surviving him are one sister, Mrs. William Folkerts, Anamosa and 18 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
