THE PARIS NEWS, June 23, 2002: 'Martha Katherine Hunter-Campbell, 87, of Paris died Friday, June 21, 2002 at Christus St. Joseph's Hospital North. Funeral services are set for 3 p.m. Sunday, June 23, at the Forest Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jim Yarbrough officiating. Interment will follow in the Forest Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home. The body will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to the service. She was born on Dec. 29, 1914 in the Slate Shoals area of Lamar County, a daughter of Mont Cella and Mattie Erwin Hunter. She attended Chicota schools and was a member of the Forest Chapel United Methodist Church. She married James Daymon Campbell on July 25, 1931 in Hugo and he preceded her in death on March 10, 1985. Survivors include her two sons, Jimmy Campbell of Kilgore and Jerry Campbell of Paris; two daughters, Bobbie Parsons of Belk and Judy Looney of Reno; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Clint Hunter of Lubbock; and a sister, Clara McCann of Dallas. Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons Robert Parsons, Johnny Campbell, Brent Campbell, Corey Campbell, Wade Flinn and Taylor Campbell. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Forest Chapel United Methodist Church.'
