Indiana's seventh Governor. Bigger served as Indiana's Governor from 1840 to 1843. Born and educated in Ohio, he moved to Indiana in 1829. He served in the state's lower house in 1833 to 1835 and under the Whig ticket, became Governor of Indiana in 1840. Bigger served as Governor until 1843. Unable to get re-elected for a 2nd term, Bigger moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana to practice law.
