NMr Bannister attended school in Erie and worked as a clerk for a food market in Erie, and the Jewel Tea Co., as a salesman. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Pacific with the U.S. Navy.
He was married December 22,, 1945 to Arlene Nelson at San Francisco, Calif.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by two sons, Charles M. Bannister of Rochester, N.Y., and Jeffrey A. Bannister at home; one daughter, Mrs. Donald Harris of Little Valley, N.Y.; two brothers, Clarence Bemis of Erie, Carl Bemis of North East, PA.; one sister, Sarah McGarvey of Erie; and one granddaughter.
Van Rensselaer Funeral Home at Little Valley handled arrangements.
Burial in Wales Cemetery, Erie County, PA.
