(LAFAYETTE) Buren Burroughs, 70, of LaFayette died Tuesday, Mar. 16, 1993, at East Alabama Medical Center, Opelika.

Funeral services were at Sanders Funeral Home Chapel, LaFayette, on Thursday, Mar. 18, with burial at Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery in Clay County. The Rev. Clifford DeLee officiated.

Mr. Burroughs was born in Clay County on May 19, 1922. He was a retired carpenter, having worked with Merritt Brothers Construction Co. for 27 years. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of Community Baptist Church, LaFayette.

Survivors include his wife, Annice Burroughs of LaFayette; three sons, Donald E. Burroughs and Roy M. Burroughs of Columbus, Ga., and Christopher B. Burroughs of LaFayette; his mother, Early Burroughs of Wedowee; three sisters, Verna Mae Longshore, Hazel Gray of Jackson, Miss., and Mohee Foster of Wedowee; two brothers, James Hoyt Burroughs of Huntsville and Bobby Burroughs of Wadley; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Sanders Funeral Home of LaFayette was in charge of arrangements.
