After graduation from the University of Idaho he served as a Captain in the U. S. Army Air Corps during WWII. After the war he served as an officer in the Civil Air Patrol.
Mr. Budge was a teacher for 29 years at Jordan and Skyline High Schools in the Salt Lake City area. In 1971 he was honored as the Utah State Science Educator of the Year.
He also wrote a weekly colmn for the Salt Lake Tribune for many years. He served his community in a number of leadership positions, including President of the Utah Science Teachers Association, President of the Sceondary School Section of the Utah Education Association, and member of the Board of Directors of the Salt Lake County Fair Board.
