Mr. Metzinger had lived in Lafayette since 1932. He was a dispatcher at Alcoa, retiring in 1973 after 34 1/2 years of service. He formerly was employed at Purdue University in landscaping. He was a member of St. Mary Cathedral, Catholic Order of Foresters 877, and Alcoa 25-Year Club.
Surviving with the widow are three sons, William Metzinger, David Metzinger, both of Lafayette, and James Metzinger of Park Ridge, IL; two sisters, Genevieve (Mrs. Leon) Eckman of Lafayette and Mrs. Cele Wing of Fowler; two brothers, Wilfred Metzinger of Oakland, IL, and Leonard Metzinger of Oakland Park, IL; and five grandchildren.
