Gladys was born in Macon, Georgia, was married August 27, 1914 to Felton E. Hollingsworth, a dairy farmer in Macon, at Mulberry Methodist Church at high noon with the Rev.W, N. Ainworth, pastor, officiating at the service. Dr. Ainsworth was later elected to Bishop of the church. Fifteen members of the family witnessed the beautiful service. The bride wore a lovely blue suit. Immediately following the service, the young couple, ages 20 and 23, left by train for a weeks honeymoon inTerro Ceia, Florida. After the wedding trip, Gladys and Felton established residence in Macon at the old Hollingsworth estate. They remained in Macon until 1925, when the family of 5 moved to Lake Worth, Florida where Felton was employed with Jellico Wholesale Grocery Co.
