Jesse Beauregard Williams died at his home in Poetry. Burial today in Dry Creek Cemetery. He was born in Dallas County December 15, 1862. He came to Kaufman County in 1874. He was a brother to the late Ben H. Williams. He married Miss Julia Strickland November 22, 1893 and five children were born; one child died in infancy and a 21 year old son, Jesse Thomas Williams, died in 1914. He is survived by his wife; two sons, J. D. Williams, Kerrville, Texas; Walter W. Williams, Snyder, Texas; one daughter, Mrs. C. E. Schmidt, New Braunfels, Texas. He was a member of the Methodist Church and the Masonic Lodge of Poetry.
