LIBERTY, NC — Utah Brown, 77, of Liberty passed away Monday, May 27, 2013 at Moses H. Cone Hospital.
He was the pastor and founder of Julian Baptist Church and was the owner/operator of Brown's Plants and Produce.
A funeral service was held on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at 4 pm at The Loflin Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Wayne Tuttle. Burial followed in Gilmore Memorial Park.
Utah was the son of the late James Arville and Minnie Leola Brown and was also preceded in death by his son, Fred Thomas Brown Sr.
Surviving is his wife of 57 years, Erma Fay Lucas Brown; sons, Utah Brown Jr. of Liberty, and James Timothy Brown (LuAnn) of Liberty; daughter-in-law, Anna P. Brown-Joyce; sister, Jeanette Cox (John Allen) of Climax; three grandchildren, Fred Thomas Brown Jr., Joshua Martin Brown (Kati) and Brandon Aaron Brown; two great-grandchildren, Camden Timothy Brown and Gracin Hunter Brown.
