Born Jan. 31, 1929, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late John Alburtis Sr. and Wilda O. (Mayhew) Alburtis. He was also preceded in death by one brother, John Alburtis Jr.
Mr. Alburtis was a retired lumber mill employee and was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Kathleen Mary (Hedrick) Alburtis; two sons, Donald R. Alburtis Jr. and wife Mary, Washington, and Anthony D. Alburtis, Cumberland; three daughters, Deborah L. Mauk and husband Larry, Fort Ashby, W.Va., Kathy L. Harris and husband Andy, Cresaptown, and Suecaryl Alburtis-Hoiasek and husband Andrew, Woodstock, Ga.; three sisters, Dorothy, Cumberland, Sandra, North Carolina, and Peggy, Cumberland; 17 grandchildren, Lena, William, Christ-ina, Jason, Melissa, Robin, Jessica Faye, Brandon, Jessica Lynn, Tony, Michael, Matthew, Amber, Mandy, Krys, Kym, Ayden; one grandson expected to be born in January; 19 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, scarpellifh.com on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 1 p.m. with Pastor Harold Wightman officiating.
Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
