Devalcourt Funeral to Be Tuesday
SUNSET
Funeral services for Thomas B. Devalcourt, 66, of Sunset, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Charles Catholic Church in Grand Coteau. Burial will be in Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas under direction of Lafond and Son
Funeral Home of Opelousas.
Devalcourt died at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Lafayette General Hospital following an illness of several years. He was born March 26, 1906 in Sunset.
He was a retired merchant and a former justice of the peace.
Survivors are his widow, the former Mildred Jones of Sunset; three sons, Paul Devalcourt of Sunset, Raymond Devalcourt of Opelousas and Carl Devalcourt of Baton Rouge; seven brothers, William, John, Steven and Woodrow Devalcourt, all of New Orleans, Joe, Theo and Robert Devalcourt, all of Port Arthur, Tex.; four sisters, Mrs. Carrie Elmer of Groves, Tex., Mrs. Ralph Daly, Mrs. Hazel McManus and Mrs. Carl Bourg, all of Port Arthur; and six grand children.
Note: Obituary should read: seven brothers, William and John of New Orleans, Steven and Woodrow Devalcourt of Lafayette.
