NICHOLS, Jessie M. - Age 79, of Flint, died Wednesday, January 31, 2001 at his residence. Mr. Nichols was born May 11, 1921 in Onaway, MI, the son of Edwin and Ada Nichols. He was a member of North Baptist Church. Jessie worked at Bell Bakery, Iris Tea, and for the State of home at the National Guard Armory. Jessie Martin Nichols married Alice Bernice Dady on May 6, 1944 and she survives him. Also surviving are: children, Jesse and wife Margaret Nichols, Bernice and husband Kenneth Baker, Linda and husband Junior VanHorn, Gloria and husband Bruce Kern; 21 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; brother, Ernest and wife Vera Nichols; sister, Lillibell Dady. Mr. Nichols was preceded in death by his sister, Marie Higgs; brothers, Edwin, Forrest, and Sonny Nichols and 2 grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 9-9PM today at the Sunset Chapel of Reigle Funeral Home, and 10AM until the time of service at church. Funeral services will be held 11AM Saturday, February 3, 2001 at North Baptist Church, 4004 Lennon Rd., Dr. Thomas Kimbrough officiating with burial to follow at Flint Memorial Park. The family would like to thank the staff of McLaren Hospice for their excellent service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to the North Baptist Church Building Fund.
