CHARLES R MARTIN, 21, ARMY GI, KILLED IN VIETNAM FEBRUARY 9TH
Charles Robert Martin, 21, native of Hogansburg, was killed
In Vietnam on February 9th, according to information received by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Martin (nee Bertha Cook) of Hogansburg. Funeral details are pending notification from the government as to when the body will be returned home. The deceased was born November 11, 1946 and was a 1966 graduate of Salmon River Central school where he was a member of the football team for three years, the basketball squad for two years and was also a member of the swimming team. In addition to his parents, he is survived by six brothers: Simon Tokyo, Japan; Alex, Rochester; John, Hogansburg; Lawrence Jr., Rochester, and William and Raymond, both of Hogansburg. Simon, Alex and John are each veterans of the Korean War. Also surviving are, four sisters, Mrs. Helen Sallatik, Jackson Heights, N.Y.; Catherine, Syracuse; Cecilia of Texas, and Roslyn, Hogansburg.
