KERMIT RAY BARNES, 67, died Friday, May 17,
2013 after a 16 year battle with cancer. He had been preceded in death by his parents, Kermit and Marjorie Jones Barnes and a brother, Wayne Barnes. A native of Northampton County he retired from International Paper in Franklin after 43 ½ years of employment. Aloving husband, father, and grandfather, he was a member of Galatia Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Beatrice B. Barnes of their home; son, Kevin Barnes and his wife, Ellen Taylor and grandson, Andrew Levi Barnes of Atlanta, Georgia; sister, Clarine B. Outland, and husband, Edward, of Lasker; mother-in-law, Margie Burgess of Rich Square; and several nieces and a nephew.
The family will receive friends at Bridgers Funeral Home, Inc. in Conway, Saturday, May 18, 2013 from 7 to 8:30 P.M. and his Graveside Service will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday in the Town of Conway Cemetery.
