MINONK (PNS) -
Mary T. Copp, 83, a retired nurse and a resident of Lida Home, Minonk, for two years, died at 10:45 p.m. Thursday, (March 31, 1983) at the home.
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rutland, the Rev. Ronald Roth officiating. Burial will be in Riley (sic) Cemetery, Rutland.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Folkers-Froelich Memorial Home, Minonk, where the rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m.
She was born Feb. 2, 1900, at Rutland, a daughter of Veness and Frances Vunetta Copp.
Surviving are two sisters,
Bernice Streeper, East Peoria;
and Rose Baer, Minonk;
and three brothers,
Victor, Wenona;
Peter, Minonk;
and Joe, Pontiac.
She was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.
Mrs. Copp had retired after 50 years as a nurse. She was the first graduate of St. Joseph School of Nursing, Mishawaka, Ind., in 1921. In 1968, she was chosen Nurse of the Year at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Chicago, where she was involved in nursing 17 years. She also had been a nurse at B.F. Goodrich Rubber Co. and at Harper Hospital, Detroit, Mich.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
