A faithful member of Orrville Baptist Church, she was a member of the Clara Martin Prayer Circle. She worked at Haynesworth Mill and after studying at Forrest Junior College, was employed by the City of Anderson until her retirement.
She is survived by her four children, Bruce Evans and wife Dorothy, of Hockessin, DE, Harriett E. Brock, of Atlanta, GA, Richard Evans and wife Gail, of Flemington, GA, and Myra E. Richardson, of Rocky Mount, NC. She also leaves seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; her half-sister, Loretta Cole; and her sister-in-law and best friend, Laura Martin.
The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 19, 2015, at Orrville Baptist Church, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at New Silver Brook Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Orrville Baptist Church, 2620 South Main Street, Anderson, SC 29624, Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC, 29621, or to the charity of one’s choice.
