May Bowley was the daughter of Ella May Judd and William Addison Bowley of Wells River, VT. She had seven siblings: Velma, Violet, Norman, Marion, Sherman, Ruth, and Raymond. She moved to Connecticut in search of work and married Nicholas John Foligno on Nov. 8, 1947. They had two children together named Patricia and Kathy. Nick and May were married for 53 years when her dedicated husband passed away in 2000.
May enjoyed visiting her siblings up in Wells River during the summer and during family reunions. Her husband, daughter Pat and Pat's four children: Tricia, Tammy, David and Priscilla would join on these family vacations. She also enjoyed nature and being outdoors. Almost everyday, her and Nick would sit outside at their home in New Britain and watch the birds. She also enjoyed camping in their pop up trailer and would meet up with family from Vermont and stay at camps in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont.
