Horace Bouton died at his home at the Sam Downs farm, two miles southwest of this village, last Thursday night of heart trouble. He was working in the hayfield until nearly dark and in the evening was taken suddenly ill and before a doctor could reach him, died. He was born in Albany County seventy-six years ago, was twice married; his first wife was Hannah Marble, by whom he had three sons; Ralph, now dead, Fred of Oneonta, and Arthur of Richfield Springs. His second wife was Jennie Hatcher Rhodes, by whom he had two children, a daughter who died a few years ago, and Lee who lived near his father. He also leaves two brothers, Byron of Oaksville and Alexander of Cullen, and several grandchildren, one stepdaughter, Mrs. Harvey Meecham, of Burlington. The funeral was held at the M.E. church last Sunday the Rev. D.C. Davies of Richfield Springs officiating, with burial in the local cemetery.
