She was previously employed in the U.S. War Department at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. during World War II. Florence was the Past Supreme President of the Portuguese-American Civic League of Massachusetts, representing the United States at the Portuguese-American Congress in Portugal in 1964. She was also a Past President of the Portuguese-American Civic Club's Ladies Auxiliary in Taunton, and the Portuguese-American Civic League of Somerville/Cambridge Ladies Council, and was Past Treasurer and served in other capacities for the Taunton Emblem Club, #529.
Florence enjoyed writing, traveling, and spending time with her family. She was a former communicant of the Immaculate Conception Parish in Stoughton.
She leaves: 1 daughter: Judith-Ann Goldrick and her husband, Joseph of Taunton, and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Elizabeth Ramos, Stella Hanlon, and E. Thomas Medeiros.
A Funeral Service will be held at The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Tuesday, June 26 at 7:00 P.M. Visiting Hours will precede the Service, Tuesday, from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment will be private in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.
