He had a twin sister, Cora Ann Evans. In 1900, when they were only a year old, their mother was living with her parents in Broad Top township in Bedford County. The twins were with her.

Oscar David Evans, aged 35 years and four days, a resident of Wood, died very suddenly Tuesday, November 7, 1933, while seated in his automobile. The cause of Mr. Evans' death is unknown. He left the house, entered his automobile and had driven up the alley into the baseball diamond when the car crashed into the grandstand. He was employed as assistant mine foreman at Rockhill Coal and Iron company plant at Woodvale.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Catherine Lena Evans and three children, Helen, Clair, and Harold, all at home.

Mr. Evans was a pleasing personality. He was popular in his home community and leaves a host of friends. Funeral services were held at the late home Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock, in charge of Rev. Lester E. Lewis, pastor of the Robertsdale Methodist Episcopal church. Interment was made in the Broad Top City cemetery, Huff's funeral service.
