John T. Sims, retired Farmer, died Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Crittenden Memorial Hospital. He was 80.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Citizens Funeral Home. Burial will be in Crittenden Memorial Park.
Mr. Sims was born (3 July, 1884) in Birmingham (correction - He was born 1/4 mile from Simcoe, Cullman Co., AL.) and he lived in West Memphis 19 years. He was a Methodist.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Sarah Jane Sims - (nee Kennedy), three sons, John Thomas Sims, Jr. of Sikeston, MO.; Shirley Lee Sims of Anchorage, AK. and Oscar Lee Sims of Rockford, IL.; six daughters, Mrs. C. L. Griffin; Mrs. Larry Hawkins; Mrs. Andrew Cox and Mrs. Fred Bollinger, Mrs. Fred Sudduth all of West Memphis, Mrs. Dallas Olive of Lawrenceburg, TN.; brother, Oscar Lee Sims of Columbia, TN.;26 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
(Preceeded in death by sons, William Thomas Sims (1904-1926) and infant (1930-1930)and daughters, Lawsie Sims (1913-1918) and Edith Sims (1917-1917)
