A joint funeral service for a young Murphysboro couple and two of their children, victims of a Tuesday accident in Murphysboro, will be held Friday at 2 p. m. in the First Baptist Church.

The Rev. H. T. Rafnel and the Rev. J. W. Ellsworth will officiate, with burial in Pleasant Grove Memorial Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Meyer-Denny Funeral Home in Murphysboro until services. The caskets will not be open at the church.

Michael Lewis Webb, 3, sole survivor of the accident, was reported slightly improved today in St. Andrew's hospital. Two children, Dennis Ray, 7, and Barbara Ann, 5, were in school.

The four suffered fatal injuries when a light pickup truck driven by the father was struck by a south-bound Illinois Central Railroad passenger train.

The train, slowing for a regular noon stop at the Murphysboro depot, struck the truck at an unmarked alley crossing. Webb was crossing the tracks to reach the home of his father at 423 N. 12th St....

Mrs. Webb, the former Phyllis Ann Offutt, was born in Murphysboro in 1927. She leaves her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Emory Woll, and a grandmother, Mrs. Lewis Elmore, all of Murphysboro.

Sharon Kay was born Aug. 9, 1951, and Richard Eugene was born Feb. 26, 1955.
