Longtime resident MARIE M. PEMBERTON passed away Sunday, March 31, 2013 in the Barnsdall Nursing Center. She was 93 years old.
Marie was born January 25, 1920 in Hominy, Oklahoma, the daughter of Joseph and Levina (Larimore) Adolph. On August 23, 1939, she married Wayne Forest Ramey in Omaha, Nebraska. He preceded her in death January 8, 1969. On April 6, 1974, Marie married Burless Pemberton... in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death July 20, 1992.
For many years, Marie worked at the Pawhuska Hospital as the billing and social services clerk. A member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Marie enjoyed doing genealogy research in her spare time. She also loved to cook and spent many hours crocheting.
Surviving are:
Her daughter: Sherry Kendrick;
Grandchildren: Chad Kendrick, Travis Kendrick, Jason Kendrick, Susan Thornton, Brad Ramey, Kelly Ramey, Shari Yanulis, Rick Lewis and Mike Kennett;
Daughters-in-law: Sandra Ramey and Shirley Ramey;
Sister: Falyne Rivera;
Twelve great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, as well as a host of other family and friends. Marie was preceded in death by her husbands; two sons, Dwayne Ramey and Wayne Ramey; her parents, three brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 5, 11:00 AM, at the McCartney's Johnson Funeral Home. Rev. Artie Hudson, pastor of the Pawhuska Calvary Baptist Church, will officiate. Interment will be in the Pawhuska City Cemetery.
