TEXAS CITY.- Mrs. Alma Causey, 90, passed away Sunday, July 6, 1997 at Columbia Mainland Medical Center in Texas City.

Mrs. Causey was born in Arcadia, Louisiana January 22, 1907.

She is a retired employee of the Texas City ISD. She.was a faithful member of Greater Barbours Chapel Baptist Church in Texas; City, where,she was active in the Usher Board and Pastor's Aide. She worked actively with the Senior Citizens Program in Texas City and was awarded for outstanding work as a Senior volunteer. She was also a proud member of Faith Chapter No. 92 Order of Eastern Star in Texas City.

She is preceded in death by her parents, seven siblings, one son, Preston; one grandson, Tommie Joe and one greatgrandson, Daryl.

She is survived by four children, Willie Maude Dawson, Tommie Lee Dawson and devoted daughter-in-law, Nell, Ommie Lee Simmons and devoted son-in-law, O.T. and Barbara Baines, all of Texas City; one brother, Leroy Russell of Bienville, Louisiana; devoted friends, Anna and Osie Combs of Texas City; 10 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren; devoted caretakers, Sadie Mayes, Regina Pete and Brenda Brooks; devoted nephew, Pleas Carter of Dallas; and numerous nieces, nephews and special friends.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Mainland Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7p.m. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 10th at the Greater Barbour's Chapel Baptist Church in Texas City;, with Rev. H. A. Ratcliff, Jr. officiating.

She will be laid to rest in Mainland Memorial Cemetery in Hitchcock.
