Mary was the daughter of "Adam" John Adam and Catharine Fisher. She married Christian Breining on May 21, 1850.

Christian and Mary were the parents of six children:
1. Louisa (Breining) Rader Lusk
2. John Adam Breining
3. "Lizzie" Mary Elizabeth (Breining) Rader
4. William Henry Breining
5. Jacob David Breining
6. Edward F. Breining

Adam Fisher had six daughters: Elizabeth (Fisher) Reichert, Mary Ann (Fisher) Breining, Margaret and Louisa, the names of the other two daughters are not currently known. Adam had no sons.
