Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 10, 2005 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Brother John Burnett officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday, September 9, 2005 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Creal Springs.
Mr. Burnett was born on July 17, 1919 in Reynoldsburg, Illinois to Otis and Ida (Orr) Burnett. He married Helen Doss and she survives.
Other survivors include seven daughters, Helen Ruth Morelock, June Mitchell, Charlotte Kauer, Lela Genevieve Dalton, Marylin Sue Sexton, Wilma Lea Harkrider and Barbara Aline Lindsey; four sons, Arthur Evans Burnett, John Wayne Burnett, Marion Earl Burnett and William Lavern Burnett; thirty-six grandchildren; fifty-two great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and four sisters, Lillie, Marie, Anna Bell and Helen.
He was preceded in death by his parents; children, Carl Dean Burnett, Emery Leon Burnett, Betty Jane Burnett, Jerry Emery Burnett and Shirley May Burnett; four grandchildren; two brothers; and five sisters. Mr. Burnett was a member of the Full Gospel Tabernacle Church in Marion. He was a retired Coal Miner.
