Isabella Sudden was the youngest daughter of Thomas Sudden and Jane Aitchison. She was born on her parents farm in North Dumfries during August 1839. Her marriage to William Bell, a young Scottish immigrant, who worked as a teamster in Galt was celebrated on October 31, 1862. Isabella's brother, James Sudden, also wed at the same ceremony. The couple had four children William, Jane Ann, Janet, and Whitson. Isabella died in Howick at Esther Sudden Wallace's farm on June 21, 1890.
