LAFAYETTE - Funeral serv-ces will be held at 10 a.m. Wed-esday, June 23, 2004, at a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Jules Catholic Church for Sidney David Jr., 85, who died at 2:20 p.m. Sun-ay, June 20, 2004 in Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Cen-er.
Interment will be in the Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
The Rev. Arthur Warren will be the celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the serv-ces.
A native of Lafayette and a resident of Scott for 30 years, Mr. David was a veteran of military service having served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific Theatre of Opera-ions.
Prior to his retirement he was employed by the City of Lafay-tte Fire Department and was formerly employed by the Qwik Quarter, First Baptist Church and CITCO.
Mr. David was a member of the St. Jules Catholic Communi-y where he attended daily mass and was a volunteer at the St. Jo-eph's Diner.
Survivors include his wife, Winona L. David, of Lafayette; two sons, Steve A. David and his wife, Sandra, and Joseph S. Da-id Sr., all of Scott; one daughter, Annette Claire David, of Scott; nine grandchildren; two great- grandchildren; and one sister, Bernice David Simoneaux, of Scott. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Corine Roche David; and one brother, Chester A. David.
A rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. today in the Martin & Cas-ille Funeral Home.
The family requests that visit-ng hours be observed from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. today and will continue from 8 a.m. Wednesday until time of services.
Memorial contributions in Mr. David's name may be made to Hospice of Acadiana, 2600 Johnston St., Suite 200, Lafay-tte, LA 70503.
Pallbearers will be Nicholas Carpenter, Cody Carpenter, Ste-en David II, Jason David, Mi-hael David and Steve David.
